QFD as a Self-Evaluating Tool in Higher Education Institutions

Abstract

This paper has the intention to demonstrate the application of a proposed model to the evaluation of the teaching process, by using the “Quality Function Deployment” (QFD) tool, aiming at providing subsidies for the self-evaluation of Higher Education Institutions established by the National Higher Education Evaluation System (SINAES). The model was applied by means of a case study in the discipline of Information Management in the Production Engineering Course at CEFET-RJ. The results demonstrate the process stages that require improvement, so that the students’ needs can be fulfilled, thus meeting the SINAES guidelines. Keywords: QFD, Higher education, SINAES.
